This is a fairly long video (8 mins) documenting the horrific natural gas explosion at the Edison New Jersey Pipeline. The gas pipeline explosion in Edison NJ (March 1994). This was taken while trying to evacuate the Durham Woods. As horrible as that explosion may look, I believe only 1 person died, but many homey were destroyed.

Another clip from the tsunami of 2004 that hit Thailand, India and many other countries. Talk about running for your life, this gives it new meaning.

This clip shows the horrific effects of the tsunami on Khao Lak. The pictures show a man on the beach running as water overpowers him. Anukul Charoenkul the restaurant owner shot the video. He said his restaurant was full of people when the tsunami struck, He had a bit of early warning and Charoenkul had time to prepare his camera to catch the moment the tsunami hit Khao Lak from the third floor of the building where his restaurant is located. He  shouted at the people on the beach to warn them, telling them to run. After the tsunami had struck, dead bodies could be seen washed up on the shore.

Could you even imagine being on a beach and seeing some crazy shit like this… not to mention having only a few seconds to run for your life before the giant Tidal Wave hits your ass..

One of the worst natural disasters of our time, if not the worst. When have we ever seen a natural disaster of this magnitude that spanned manymany coastal cities and countries . The death toll on this is enormous and still no one can really say exactly what it is due to the incredible number of lives lost, many of which can not even be accounted for as in so many people are just missing. The following are some pictures and video clips of this horrible disaser as taken by some fools who actually stuck around with video cameras… and got lucky enough to be that stupid and live.

Standing in water and debris left by smaller waves on Thailand’s Patong beach, people unaware as large tidal waves came to them.

Footage of the 2004 tsunami disaster from Indian coast. The footage captures the crashing of a tidal wave against the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, The video was shot by Aniket Kale. After visiting the memorial, the 16 year-old and his family were waiting for a ferry to take them back to the mainland when the tsunami suddenly crashed into the memorial and the sea wall beside it. Hundreds of other tourists were around at the time. The devastating tsunami killed more than six thousand people in Tamil Nadu.

This fool probably did not realize he was gonna catch a wave this big… or maybe he did and wanted to test fate, but this is one crazy surfing video I found. I hope the man lived through that mess, and hopefully he did not look back to see the giant wave coming at him. I gotta say, he must be a great surfer because he did make it through most the ride… all up untill the thing broke and took him with it.

I am sure that not a person with a radio or a RV can ever forgetthis horrific natural disaster. This is most likely the worst my generation has ever seen andus that are not affected… or at least not yet affected by devestation of tis magnitude can even wonder on what that can be like.

For people of faith the question must immediately arise - did God cause this? If so why? Why one person and not another? Why were so many of the dead innocent children? Why were the weak killed more than the strong? Why were the poor punished more than the rich? Why does a supermodel live while her photographer boyfriend was swept out to sea?

Some common answers include:

1. It was accumulated bad karma of the countries and individuals concerned.
2. It was punishment for a specific sin of some sort such as a massive violation of an important religious ritual.
3. It is part of a Creation damaged by the Fall, an amoral random effect of the “sin of Adam”.
4. It was Fate, it was “in the stars”.
5. Personal retribution - each individual person who died was killed for his or her own sin in a highly selective and personal way.
6. There is no moral explanation, God wound up the world like a watch and let it run, this disaster is just a bit of grit in the mechanism.
7. It was prophesied – as part of the end-time judgments on a wicked humanity and a preparation for the return of Jesus.
8. It was an evangelistic wake-up call to get them to repent and listen to God and stop chasing money, sex, idols etc.
9. It was not God but Satan that caused the earthquake and tsunami (or other natural disaster) because Satan loves to steal, kill and destroy.
10. It was the accumulated result of human folly – no warning systems, building too close to the water, causing climate change etc.

So now # 8 is my fave reason here

I will show that all ten of these common reasons are quite unsatisfactory and that the Bible offers a far deeper explanation. But first here is some of what Scripture says, which I have arranged under various headings:

If there is a calamity in a city, has Jehovah not also done it?

God’s Ultimate Will Is To Renew Creation So That Natural Disasters Cease Forever

anyway, I had to cut out many of the pages they kinda just rambled on and on. Now I may be wrong here, but the jist of all the ramblings seems to be that these 100′000 of thousands of people were the poor souls that basicallygot punished for the sins of the world… and if we would like to never, ever see another horrible natural disaster such as this one… we should all kneal down and pray and repent our sins, for if we do not… 50,000 more children may die by GODS hand because I decided to go get wasted off my ass last night.

That type of thinking blows my mind… let me again repeat that these types of natural disasters have been around since before the notion of GOD and religion… Come now… were the Dinosaurs evil in some way when the astroid (theoretical) wiped thjem out? Did Mr. Stegasaurus and family not say thier nightly prayers?

This is not a religious blog and I try to keep it that way, but every now and then I do get a hair up my ass and need to comment on the thoughts, writings of religios… well “freaks” (could not think of a better term in this case)

Natural disasters are what my nightmares are made of… seriously, I had a dream the other night about being in a beach side house during a tsunami… talk about running for our lives. Its kinda hard to pick which natural disaster is better… I nean is is better to live in the East side US, know the hurricane, tornado or crazy category gazzilion storm is coming your way in 5 hours so run to your cellers, board up thewindows, strap yourself to the plumbing and pray to GOD that the roof stays on… or is it better to just not even know, like the earthquakes on the West Coast of the US and all over the world.

Seems like no matter where you go, the land always has someking of natural disaster to screw with you… But I must add that there is something to be said about tornadoes and hurricanes, they at least give you enough warning to whip out the video camera and catch the insane wreckage and wrath of mother nature at its deadliest and most vengefull self..

These guys did get the camera out, me, I would not be worried about filming my homes destruction, but hey… I suppose its always good to risk your life to have ammunition against the insurance companies. You see when they come vack and go… well, we are just not sure… are you positive a tornado destroyed the house and it wasn’t the angry teenager taking a baseball bat to his room… you can say.. YEP, its all on film!
